C-NOTES 2/19/22

REHEARSING AT THE MUSIC SCHOOL

This week will be the first time we will all gather together for rehearsal at the Music School. In addition to your musicality, I would ask that everyone bring their patience as we figure out the best arrangement that allows for 3-feet spacing between chairs. Don’t be surprised if we ask you to move.

Parking – The CCMS parking lot is a small parking lot with limited parking. Do not plan on space being available and if you are able to walk, please leave the parking lot for people who are less mobile. The majority of us will need to park along South Street, Fayette Street, or Wall Street. The Music School has agreed to leave the Wall Street entrance unlocked for us. Please plan on arriving early to allow time for street parking.

Volunteers Needed – Every week we will need people to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to set up the chairs and to break them down and put them back on the racks after rehearsal. If you are able, please pitch in and help.

MUSIC PLAYLIST

Ruth Heath has put together this playlist of the music we are singing this semester. Thank you, Ruth!

SPRING 2022 DOC POSSE UPDATE

Thankfully, the Omicron surge is fast abating and all the numbers are falling. We feel it is safe to gather again, given the safe way that we do this.

We will continue with the same precautions we used in the fall, listed out again below, where we take care if exposed to COVID, travel by airplane, get COVID, or have any kind of cold or upper respiratory illness. The rapid tests can now be bought at any NH liquor store, and they have a very good supply. Zoom rehearsals allow people to ‘stay in the game’ until any issue is resolved.

The Community Room at the Music School will feel crowded after the large open space of the South Church Sanctuary. It is actually safer, because of the HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Absorber) filter that cleans the air four times per hour, and our higher-quality masks. We would prefer that everyone use the KN95’s that will be provided, however if it really moves a lot on your face with singing and breaks that ‘seal’, then please use your singers’ mask. The room also has far better lighting and sound.

Please come a bit early to the first full rehearsal next week; it will take time to set up the chairs so each chair is 3 feet from the next chair in any direction.

If you have questions, please email BJ directly at beegbkr@gmail.com.

A Review of our COVID Safety Measures

      • 14 days post exposure OR
      • Negative PCR test 3 -5 days after exposure AND no symptoms

    • Test negative with a rapid test the DAY OF rehearsal
    • Attend rehearsal on Zoom option, if necessary
