REHEARSAL NOTES:

Sing, Sing: measure 57 to the end. Make the text come alive! Notice that the melody is a little different in every verse.

Ring Out: measure 81 to the end. Look joyful!

Sing Choirs of Angels: memorize measure 108 to the end and look up.

Grace Before Sleep: sing with tall vowels and focus on intonation.

ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN UPDATE:

Let us just say that as classical singers, YOU ROCK!  The advertising campaign, which resumed after a 2-year hiatus due to Covid19, and which started late in the season, came off with great success thanks to YOU!

If you asked someone or a business to support Concord Chorale with a program playbill ad or a sponsorship, thank you!

Liz Hengen led the charge securing sponsors, and $10,000 was raised.  Great work!

Liz MacLellan has done the yeoman’s work in drafting the ad forms, establishing the ad status campaign updates and transitioning much of what is required to run this campaign mostly on-line.  Her work continues in pulling ad copy and getting the playbill printed.  Our advertising goal was surpassed with over $9,000 raised in ad sales!  Thanks to your PITCH, many new advertisements were sold, and our core of continuing advertisers remains strong and committed in supporting the Concord Chorale.

And, because of all this, Concord Chorale is able to continue our quest for excellence.

THANK YOU!

Sincerely,

Tom Weston

————-

On December 11th and 12th, Concord Chorale warmly invites you to attend “Gloria!” a concert featuring Antonio Vivaldi’s piece by the same name, as well as festive carols and songs that emphasize the joy of gathering together. This concert will also be Concord Chorale’s first with new collaborative pianist Liya Nigmati, who began working with Concord Chorale in September 2021.

Concord Chorale plans to present the concert in person at South Congregational Church in Concord, and it will be live streamed at concordchorale.org, as well as on YouTube (Concord Chorale NH). “We are very excited about the prospect of performing together with a live audience,” says Chorale president Elibet Chase. “While we enjoy being together to rehearse, what we really love is seeing our appreciative audience and spreading the joy of music together.” Due to the ever-changing nature of the pandemic, please be sure to check concordchorale.org for the most up to date information a few days before the concert.

What: Concord Chorale’s Concert, Gloria!

When: Saturday, December 11th at 7pm and Sunday, December 12th at 3pm

Where: South Congregational Church, 27 Pleasant Street, Concord NH (check website for most up to date information) as well as live streamed at concordchorale.org

Ticket information: Available online (concordchorale.org)

Masks, proof of vaccination, and photo ID required for in person performances.

MIDNIGHT MERRIMENT

Please join us on Friday, December 3rd for Midnight Merriment. This is a fun and festive Chorale tradition. We will meet at 6pm at the Subway in downtown Concord (39 North Main Street) and sing for 1-2 hours. Sue Berlenbach will bring books of carols. Dress as festively as you can.

FROM THE DOC POSSE:

RE: Thanksgiving gatherings: Please time your COVID test (if you have determined you need one) based on when the last guest leaves your home, i.e. three days after that. It takes up to two days for the PCR to return, so remember you can do a rapid test THE DAY OF the December 1st rehearsal, or join on Zoom.

We encourage everyone to get a vaccine booster. The CDC now approves them for everyone over 18, as seen here.

Thank you, and enjoy your holiday!!
