OPEN SING/FIRST REHEARSAL
We will hold our fall Open Sing (which also serves as our first rehearsal) on WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 2ND from 7-9 PM on Zoom. There will be an audition process for (1) new singers and (2) returning singers who have missed more than one semester. These will occur virtually (via Zoom) with Jenny Cooper in the week AFTER Open Sing.
LONG REHEARSAL
We will have a long rehearsal on SATURDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 19TH from 9 – 12:30. We will rehearse and then record Adrienne Albert’s Preamble to the Choral Quilt of Hope, which most of us are familiar with. The rehearsal will be from 9 – 10:30, then we will record our parts, with coaching for those who need it. This will be the first recording for our virtual concert in January.
The virtual choir depends on each of us recording ourselves singing, preferably video, but could be audio. This requires you to have TWO devices, e.g. smart phone and tablet, tablet and computer, or smart phone and tablet. You will sing along with the music playing on one device (via headphones or earbuds) while you record yourself on the other device. After you have recorded yourself, you upload the file to another site such as Dropbox or Google Drive so that it can be stitched into the final product.
Much more detail on this to follow and our Tech Posse will help those who need it.
